MEMBERSHIP DRIVE 2010

We invite you to join the GAGA Arts Center. Our mission is to present the work of emerging artists and curators working to develop new languages in the creation of contemporary visual arts, video, film, dance and performance arts. Located in a sprawling 19th century former textile mill, GAGA operates 15,000 square feet of unique gallery space plus a variety of outdoor installation sites, including our beautiful GAGA Creekside Sculpture Garden.

For the past nine years, GAGA has been sponsoring a wide variety of contemporary art exhibitions and performances, student art exhibitions and of course our annual GAGA Arts Festival drawing thousands of eager visitors each spring. Last year, GAGA started Encounters with the Arts, an alternative education program which takes students out of the institutional environment and brings them into the studios of professional working artists and artisans.

Your membership can help us continue to bring these programs and events to Rockland County and the tri-state region ‘art loving’ community.

We are a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization. Your membership contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

Please join today!

Thank you,

Robin E. Rosenberg [President] and James Tyler [Executive Director]

Food and refreshments prepared.

Encounters with the Arts GAGA’s Encounters with the Arts programs are unique educational experiences designed to open the world of art to students of all ages through hands on exploration, utilizing the vast wealth of artistic knowledge and professional expertise available at GAGA from our resident artists. Whether touring art exhibitions with the artists, or the Creekside Nature Walk & Sculpture Trail with master gardeners, or just imagining the 150 years of American history in and around the 18th century architecture, students are invited to soak in the aesthetic experience. Artists’ workshops run by painters& sculptors, woodworkers & metalsmiths, film makers& photographers can be another part of their arts encounter. Or better still--students can be given the time and space to discover something about themselves and do their own creating in an environment of artistic exploration.

Platinum Sponsorship - $5,000 Gold Sponsorship - $2,500 Silver Sponsorship - $1,000

GAGA Creekside Nature Walk and Sculpture Trail The Garnerville Industrial Center was built along a beautiful stretch of the Minisceongo Creek. But as the textile industry moved away in the mid 1900's, the waterway fell into neglect. It was a junk heap.

In 2007 a single tenant artist sent out an e-mail with one question: “Would anyone help clean it up?” Two years, hundreds of hours of volunteer labor, [with many thanks to the committment & the heavy equipment of landscape designer Lance Kehoe & woodworker Rick Johnson] our creekside has not only been cleaned up, it is delightful!

It is also the permanent home of sculptor Ted Ludwiczak’s Stonehead Project; an installation of dozens of carved stone faces by the renown self-taught outsider artist. Including his colossus [Ted’s Big Head] over
ten feet tall - still in progress.

Platinum Sponsorship - $5,000 Gold Sponsorship - $2,500 Silver Sponsorship - $1,000
