Adam Kurtz Photography, representing Mercedes Benz, selected Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center for a photo shoot featuring Mercedes Benz’s limited edition truck, known as the G63 AMG 6×6. Prior to its trip here, this $650,000 vehicle was driven in an upcoming movie featuring Michael Douglas. After its photo shoot, the G63 AMG 6×6 made a quick appearance at the 48th Super Bowl and then flew back home to Germany.

Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center Announces State Historic Register Listing
First Niagara Foundation Helps Jump Start Campaign to Restore GARNER Arts Center
GARNERVILLE, N.Y. – May 14, 2013 -– Local dignitaries including State, County, Town and Village officials today joined with the GARNER Arts Center (formerly GAGA) leadership and the Preservation League of New York for a major announcements regarding restoration and preservation at the Garnerville complex. The Preservation League announced Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center’s listing on the State Register of Historic Places as the “Rockland Print Works Historic District”.
The Garner Print Works, now the site of the Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center, was built between 1838 and the early 20th century, and is named after the Garner brothers, the second owners of the original calico printing plant.
At one time, the plant, which became known as Rockland Print Works, employed thousands of workers and grew to include the printing and dyeing of wool, cotton and linen. The Print Works was a prolific plant and produced enough dresses to clothe every woman in America. Its stock was traded on the New York Stock Exchange. The plant, which includes more than 30 buildings, closed briefly during the Great Depression but was brought back to life in 1938 by the Garnerville Holding Company, the current owner of the Garnerville Arts & Industrial Center.
